Charity Cycle Ride for The Elizabeth Foundation
September 2020 saw a team of super cyclists from the BNI Boardwalk at Port Solent take on a 65 mile round trip around the Isle of Wight. The charity cycle ride included climbing a dizzying 4,000ft in support of The Elizabeth Foundation.
The Elizabeth Foundation helps deaf children learn to listen and talk. They provide a range of services and support to young deaf children and babies and their families.
The challenge took in the fabulous sites of The Isle of Wight capturing dramatic cliff views, beautiful beaches and quaint harbours. All a welcome distraction for the riders from the energy zapping climbs! Despite the burning legs, sore saddles and thirsty mouths, the whole team agreed it was a great challenge and were proud to tackle it in the name of The Elizabeth Foundation, a fitting beneficiary of their efforts.
We’re really proud that our very own Dave Pollinger took on this brilliant challenge. And must make a mention and give huge congratulations to fellow riders – Andy and Aaron at Lightning Fire; Oli at Southern Solutions; Dave from Ascend Utilities, Paula from Mission Nutrition and Major Matt Swales.
